Cartridges produced by all production lines are tested on the test bench in-house at regular intervals throughout the day; tests are repeated at every change of production batch, or powder, or after every slightest adjustment in machinery adjustments.
The new RC test bench is approved and controlled directly by the Italian National Proof House and is equipped with the most sophisticated detection software in compliance with the international C.I.P. (Commission Internationale Permanente pour l’Epreuve des Armes à Feu Portatives – Permanent International Commission for the Testing of Firearms) standard. The data measured are time in the barrel, ignition delay, pressure, pressure curve integral, and velocity at multiple distances from the barrel. Checking on the pressure curves is done in real time to immediately verify the correct development of each shot.
The new programs allow total traceability of each production batch and certify the constant setting of detection sensors in accordance with C.I.P. parameters. The controls continue by devoting the utmost attention to the verification of the shotgun and hunting cartridge rounds fired at various distances in the special RC shooting area.
The use of a climatic cell makes it possible to recreate a wide variety of climatic conditions in order to test the performance of the cartridges in all kinds of environments. After 72 hours of conditioning inside the climate cell, the cartridges are ready to be tested on the test bench.
